Mind Over Matter: Confronting Challenges in Post-Mortem Brain Biobanking for Glioblastoma Multiforme

The invaluable support of the MHF spans huge distances with many patients located in far regional and rural communities.

Many of these communities are not equipped with the same level of infrastructure or medical services which makes the delivery of brain cancer research programs challenging.

One of the key weapons we have in the fight against brain cancer is research performed on high quality tissue samples donated by people with brain cancer, but collecting these samples  from people in rural communities can be difficult.

The team at the MHF brain bank are eternally humbled by the generosity and selflessness of the inspiring people who have donated their brains to the post-mortem brain bank and are committed to ensuring that no offer of tissue donation is declined.

We believe that participation in research and the opportunity to contribute to the fight against brain cancer is an opportunity that should be afforded to everyone – irrespective of postcode.
