The Mark Hughes Foundation Centre for Brain Cancer Research was delighted to host the 2025 International Brain Tumour Research Summit and Workshop here in Newcastle over two days in February.
Opening with our co-founder Mark Hughes sharing his personal journey with brain cancer, speakers from across the nation shared the latest on their research with guests in the room.
From the challenges of understanding the underlying biology of brain tumours, to delivering better treatments and expanded clinical trials – each speaker demonstrated their commitment to delivering better outcomes for people with brain cancer and those who care for them.
On day two, workshops were held to discuss what’s next for brain cancer research and how researchers and clinicians can combine their skills and expertise to deliver better solutions for people living with brain cancer and their loved ones.
The conversations didn’t end as everyone went back to their respective labs, workshops and research spaces. Emails and phone calls are continuing, and future research collaborations are in the works.
Bringing the greatest minds together in the search for a cure can generate exciting outcomes – every dollar raised by our communities is making a difference.
