Mark receives Order of Australia Medal

Congratulations to our fearless leader, Mark Hughes, who has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM).

Beyond the titles and the recognition, Mark lives every day facing his own brain cancer diagnosis but never once chose to focus on himself. It was always and still is about how he can help others going through a brain cancer diagnosis.

“I’m accepting this honour on behalf of our MHF community, I am overwhelmed at the help and support we receive on a daily basis. We promise to keep fighting for so many families that have been torn apart by this disease, as well as the families like mine that are still fighting against Brain Cancer”.

Through it all, Mark always has a smile on his face, a positive attitude, and an incredible ability to see the good in everything and everyone he meets.

His strength, resilience and compassion continue to inspire everyone who meets him.

Mark, no one deserves this award more than you and we are so incredibly proud.

Congratulations on this well-earned recognition.

Mark sat down with Niav Owens, to chat about his journey, from a young bloke from Kurri Kurri, to a household name across Australia. Listen here: https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/newcastle-breakfast/mark-hughes-oam/106268848?utm_content=link&utm_medium=content_shared

Donate today & help beat brain cancer

Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in children, and adults aged under 40 in Australia, yet alarmingly very little is known about brain cancer, its causes or how it is treated.

That’s why we need your help. Every dollar helps in the fight against brain cancer. Your donation will go towards vital research to improve patient treatments and, hopefully, find a cure one day.

All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
