Charlie’s Gift

Earlier this year we received a call from 85 year old Charlie Sutton, a retired grazier from Glen Innes who wanted to know more about our foundation as he was interested in making a charitable donation. After hearing MHF runs with only a small team and lots of volunteers to ensure a high percentage of funds goes to research and not administration costs – he generously donated $100,000!

This is the largest donation by an individual that MHF has ever received. Such a huge donation needed a personal thanks and the Hughes family headed to Glen Innes to meet Charlie in early April.

Charlie had a great time planned out for us starting with a meal at the Hereford Steakhouse with his friends and family. We also met the Mayor of Glen Innes, enjoyed a tour to see the sights around town and finished our visit with a great cup of tea.

What an amazing and generous person who has done so much for charity over many years.Thank you Charlie!

Donate today & help beat brain cancer

Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in children, and adults aged under 40 in Australia, yet alarmingly very little is known about brain cancer, its causes or how it is treated.

That’s why we need your help. Every dollar helps in the fight against brain cancer. Your donation will go towards vital research to improve patient treatments and, hopefully, find a cure one day.

All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
