Kurt’s McDonald Jones to Mudgee Mission

Kurt Gidley along with fellow Knights Old Boys Danny Buderus, Jarrod O’Doherty, Tim Maddison, Daniel Abraham, Trent Salkeld, Luke Quigley, Robbie Tew, Todd Polglase, and Chris Bailey are back at it again taking on a tough ride to help us tackle brain cancer! Joined by Newcastle local business men Rhys Smith, Robbie McNaughton and Greg Matthew, all of these blokes share a love of mateship and community. Their purpose is to re-connect, challenge themselves and raise money for MHF and local grass roots Junior Rugby League Clubs.

The team and their support crew of Martin Parker, Kenny West, Jeff Polglase, and Geoff Gidley will leave from McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle, Wednesday March 29 and head towards Mudgee.

First stop will be the Denman Hotel where the boys will join the Denman Devils to fundraise and enjoy a few Steel City’s. Day two the boys will do it all over again riding another 100kms to the Globe Hotel, Rylstone before heading off on day three to their final destination, Mudgee. That night the Woolpack Hotel will host a big night of fundraising and celebration to wrap up the ride! Sunday April 1 is a day of relaxation for the team as they cheer on the Newcastle Knights to victory when they take on the Manly Sea Eagles at Glen Willow Oval, Mudgee.

Donate today & help beat brain cancer

Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in children, and adults aged under 40 in Australia, yet alarmingly very little is known about brain cancer, its causes or how it is treated.

That’s why we need your help. Every dollar helps in the fight against brain cancer. Your donation will go towards vital research to improve patient treatments and, hopefully, find a cure one day.

All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
