Kurt Gidley along with fellow Knights Old Boys Danny Buderus, Tim Maddison, Daniel Abraham, Trent Salkeld, Luke Quigley, Robbie Tew, Todd Polglase, and Chris Bailey were joined by Newcastle local businessmen Rhys Smith, Robbie McNaughton and Greg Matthew to ride 300kms to raise $30k for MHF!
They took off from McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle, last Wednesday and rode the first 125kms to Denman Hotel in wet conditions. Day two was the toughest leg of their ride with step inclines and another 125kms to get through. The boys had to go deep to get to the Globe Hotel, Rylstone.
Day three was kinder to the riders with just under 100kms left on their journey to Mudgee. The Woolpack Hotel hosted the celebrations which saw $8000 raised on the night. Thanks to Drift Bikes Kurt and Danny were lucky enough to ride and then auction off brand new Specialized Bicycles Sirrus and Trek Bicycles FX 2 bikes!
After a day out at the footy for Knights v Manly on the Saturday afternoon the team headed home, sore but proud of what they had achieved! They had also smashed their goal of $30k raising $46,870!!
Thank you to the sponsors and support crew that made this ride happen and all of the awesome and generous people and business that contributed along the way!
