Hints and tips for your fundraiser

We’ve put together a list of tips to help make your beanie day a success. While raising funds and awareness are important, don’t forget to have fun!

Fundraising for Individuals

Ask your friends, family and colleagues for donations to support your fundraising efforts
Pick up beanies for your friend and family when you do your shopping at one of our stockists. Or, if you can't get in store, take orders and money for beanies and order them together
Invite friends to wear any beanie to your event and donate on the day/night
Take a group of mates to any NRL Beanie Round game with beanies on your heads and gold coins in your pockets
Fill a jar with jelly beans or chocolate beanies and have a "guess the number of jelly beanies in the jar" competition

Fundraising for Schools

Hold an out of uniform day for a gold coin donation
Wear a beanie for a gold coin donation
Have students make a donation to play pin the Pom Pom on the beanie, with the chance to win a prize
Sell baked beanie Jaffles, jelly beanies or chocolate beanies from the canteen
Have a bake sale! Invite parents to make cupcakes with Beanie toppers, chocolate beanies or jelly beanies on top
Set up a game of Pass the Beanie quiz style. Have students make a donation to enter the Quiz competition. Give a student the "Question Beanie" to put on. If they get the question right they keep playing, if not they pass the beanie along to another student. Whoever answers the last question wins.

Fundraising for Businesses

Show how socially responsible your business is by partnering with Mark Hughes Foundation and fundraising on their behalf
Challenge another department or office to beat your fundraising goal
Hold a business lunch and charge for entry
Use the Mark Hughes Foundation Beanie Day as the charity partner for your corporate event
Get your team to wear a beanie on Beanie Day for a donation
Get local media involved to get even more eyes on your events and fundraising efforts
Raise awareness on Social Media, in your email signatures and in other marketing collateral
