You may be surprised to learn that, in Australia, brain cancer kills more children than any other disease and more people under 40 than any other cancer, yet it is one of the most underfunded and under researched cancers of all time. Your participation in Beanie for Brain Cancer Day will enable us to increase awareness of this terrible disease, and raise much needed funds for brain cancer research.
Your school community can help us by participating in our annual Beanie for Brain Cancer campaign. It’s easy, fun, and a great opportunity for students to experience first hand how a small effort by many can make a big difference!
To get your school involved, print out our Invitation Letter and encourage your school’s principal to register their Beanie Day online, so that they can join in on the FUNdraising.
Choose a date to hold your Beanie for Brain Cancer Day (it can be any time, but ideally in Beanie Month)
Have your school principal register your school using the Registration Link below.
Spread the word to students and parents, inviting them to wear a beanie and make a donation to the Mark Hughes Foundation
Put the FUN into FUNdraising with Brain Teasers, games of Celebrity Head, and guess the Jelly Beanies!
After the event – announce the total amount raised by your school and give yourselves a big pat on the back! The money will then need to be deposited into the Mark Hughes Foundation’s bank account, and Mark Hughes Foundation will need to be notified of the banked amount and the date.
Your help in raising funds for brain cancer research would be greatly appreciated and we think your school community will find it a fun, easy, and extremely rewarding experience. We guarantee your hard work will not be wasted and every dollar will go to finding better treatments and ultimately to finding a cure for brain cancer.
