The involvement of the Mark Hughes Foundation at the Newcastle Knights Old Boys Day coinciding with the last home game of the season last Sunday was a huge success. As a result of communities generosity and support, $13,812.05 was raised on the day at the game as well as an additional $4500 on the Auction items, totalling an outstanding $18,312.05!!!
A huge thank you to all those that dug deep and supported the MHF at Hunter Stadium on Sunday. The support for the Mark Hughes Foundation was overwhelming and means so much to Mark.
The day would not have been possible without the support of some amazing businesses and individuals. Mark and the team at MHF would like to say a big heartfelt thank you for helping to make the day such a huge success. Those who we would like to say thanks to are:
- Lake Motor Group – sponsorship of the TRY signs
- NRL One Community – sponsoring the Photo Booth
- Blink Republic – supply of the photo booth
- NBN television – especially David Threlfo who put together the Brain Cancer awareness DVD
- The Newcastle Knights Administrative Staff
Also we would like to thank those sponsors who generously donated to our on-line Auction:
- Cars of the Stars
- Newcastle Golf Club
- The Newcastle Knights
- Merewether Surfhouse
To all the families whose lives have changed due to brain cancer who took part in our half time tribute, you are our inspiration and the reason we are all working so hard to find answers to this disease.
Thanks also to all of our volunteers who gave their time, your effort was amazing. The talented Emily from EMG Photography did an awesome job capturing photo’s of the special event, we thank her for her time and efforts.
We hope this will be an annual event for the MHF. Thanks to those who supported this fundraising event – all money raised will go straight towards vital brain cancer research and assisting those patients with brain cancer.
