In 2024, the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF) celebrated its 10th anniversary with a year full of achievements across research and patient care. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we continued to make strides in the fight against brain cancer, fostering collaboration, innovation, and hope.
Our research efforts were bolstered by six newly established Innovation Grants and a $1 million investment, which brought together creative minds from the MHF Centre and The Brain Cancer Centre in Melbourne. The year also saw ground breaking work from our researchers, with international presentations at events like the European Association of Neuro-Oncology in Glasgow and the Organisation for Human Brain Mapping meeting in Seoul. We also celebrated milestones such as Dr. Kelsey Maddison receiving her PhD and commencing an Early Career Researcher Fellowship, while welcoming PhD students like Christian Behler, awarded the Garry Willgoose Scholarship, and international researchers advancing studies into glioblastoma and paediatric brain cancer.
As we close another successful year, we thank you for standing with us. Together, we are making a tangible difference in research, care, and hope for those impacted by brain cancer. Here’s to a future where brain cancer is no longer a life sentence.
