As you would know our small team here at the Foundation together with our fabulous volunteers work really hard to raise funds for brain cancer research. The good news is – the money is already making a difference to the lives of many people currently battling the disease either through drug trials or our Brain Cancer Care Coordinators.
We’d like you to meet one family who’ve been directly effected and who have come on board to help raise awareness and raise funds even whilst going through the worst time of their lives.
Here’s a message from Grace and Sam Bates, who’s dad Andrew is currently battling an aggressive form of brain cancer and a great interview with Andrew, Lyndall, Grace and Sam from Fox Sports “League Life” in 2018.
“It is an honour to be asked by Mark and Kirralee Hughes to take part in this year’s Beanie for Brain Cancer Campaign. We represent thousands of families thrown in to the unexpected world that is brain cancer as our Dad has been fighting a glioblastoma for over two years.
We are so grateful for the support of the Mark Hughes Foundation that have been with us since day one and we can see first hand where the funding is going.
Our family have been supported by the wonderful MHF Care Coordinator Nurses Sandy and Alicia. They have been with us every step of the way and available whenever we need them for treatment advice and emotional support.
The MHF also directly funds many clinical trials which is the only way forward in finding a cure for brain cancer.
Please get behind this year’s Beanie for Brain Cancer campaign. You will really make a difference to families like us and generations to come”. – Grace & Sam xx
