Thanks to last years Christmas campaign - Giving Season, we are pleased to announce the advertisement of the Garry Willgoose PhD Scholarship. The successful applicant will work as a part of the MHF Centre fro Brain Cancer in the Imaging Centre at HMRI co-supervised by Assoc Prof Saad Ramadan, Prof Michael Breakspear and Prof Mike Fay.

The project aims to develop new methods to analyse medical images including MRI and PET to enhance the information provided to clinicians caring for patients with brain cancer. This will provide earlier indicators of treatment effect and help to optimise decisions around patient treatment.

This PhD Scholarship honours the memory of Professor Garry Willgoose, a long-term staff member of the University of Newcastle and Professor of Engineering. Garry was committed to lifelong learning and a strong advocate of the importance of research in solving real-world problems. Garry and his partner Veronica have kindly provided the funds to support this scholarship.
